After repairing a number of American and European motorcycles as a hobby, Ray began his career in the motorcycle business in 1995 as a technician at a BMW dealer. An opportunity to escort the Olympic Torch in 1996 pulled him away from the dealership. He spent the next 5 years working for Alem International, leading demo rides for BMW, piloting camera bikes for bicycle races and triathlons, and acting as a crash test dummy on BMW's outrigger bike. Returning to Colorado in 2001, Ray resumed his education and training as a technician at a BMW dealership. In 2003 he took an opportunity to work with some of his heroes at BMW of Denver. Clem Cykowski and Bob Creger were great assets to Ray as a hobbyist and apprentice/journeyman technician. In the fall of 2011 Bob Creger talked Ray into retiring his wrenches in favor of sales; putting his motor-mouth to work.
Ray's travels with Alem and for pure enjoyment has taken him to 47 states and 6 countries by motorcycle. He is on his 5th GS, 'Zella and would love to leave the motorcycle industry long enough to ride her to Alaska or Tierra del Fuego.
